The event’s theme was:“Grid Enhancement, Strategic Planning, Technological Innovation and Climatic Adaptation for Resilient Future Energy Systems.”
Key highlights included:
Technical sessions on HVDC/AC hybrid systems, DER integration, advanced substations, system economics, and climate resilience.
Panels addressing cyber-security, market structures, and the future skills gap.
Workshops & tutorials on digitalization, HIL testing, and converter-dominated grids.
Special sessions for Women in Energy (WiE) and Next Generation Network (NGN).
Technical tours to Hydro-Québec’s Beauharnois Generating Station and IREQ research institute.
This symposium underscored CIGRE’s role as a global platform for knowledge exchange, technical collaboration, and innovation.
Our Experience
For us at EdgeTunePower, the symposium was a valuable opportunity to connect with engineers, operators, and decision-makers focused on grid reliability and digital transformation.

At our booth, we engaged in discussions on:
Power-Plant-Controller (PPC iT-500): showcasing advanced ramp-rate control and compliance features.
Power-Management-System (PMS iT-1000): demonstrating reliable DER coordination.
iT-2000 Intelligent Controller: integrating EMS + PPC + PMS into a single platform for streamlined operations.
HIL-Testing (Hardware-in-the-Loop): demonstrating how real-time simulation validates controllers and SCADA before commissioning.
The conversations emphasized the increasing importance of HIL-testing and intelligent plant control systems in supporting the fast-evolving energy transition. Visitors were particularly interested in scalability, compliance, and integration across DER portfolios.
Video Demo & Live Presentation
To complement the live demonstration at our booth, we also presented a video of the enclosure that highlighted:
Different internal sections and equipment design.
How the controller hardware integrates with power management functions.
Real-time coordination between the PPC iT-500, PMS iT-1000, and the combined iT-2000 solution.
This video played alongside our live HIL-testing demo, helping attendees visualize how our solutions operate both at the hardware level and within real-time simulated conditions.
The combination of video + live demo created strong engagement, making it easier for participants to connect our solutions to their own operational challenges.
