We developed this tool to support data center developers in the early stage of project assessment using our data center testbed. Leveraging real-time simulation, the platform enables a fast evaluation of overall data center performance and co-located energy mix, with a typical turnaround of 1–2 weeks.
The platform addresses key questions:
Does the data center meet grid requirements (ride-through, ramp rates, AI load behavior, harmonics, etc.)
Can the load be supplied safely with the selected energy mix (BESS, generators, wind, solar, etc.)
What is the required share of each energy source
What technologies and proportions are needed (GFM, E-STATCOM, flywheel, etc.)
What is the impact on on-site generators
Black start capability of the plant
Transformer sizing and energization considerations
Flexibility to include additional user-defined studies
Main equipment ratings (transformers, breakers, and cables)
The output provides a high-level but practical baseline to support early decision-making and equipment selection. While based on generic inputs, it answers critical questions and helps reduce the risk of over- or under-design.
