About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Power System Studies Engineer with strong expertise in power system analysis, modeling, and grid integration. The role will support complex studies involving data centers, BESS, renewable generation, inverter-based resources (IBRs), conventional generation, and large-load interconnections across grid-connected and off-grid/islanded systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience with load flow, short-circuit, transient and frequency stability, EMT, harmonics, resonance, SSO/SSCI, and other specialized power system studies, as well as generator and IBR dynamic modeling and model validation. Proficiency with platforms such as PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerWorld, PSLF, and ETAP, along with knowledge of North American interconnection requirements and study processes, is highly valued. The role requires the ability to independently lead complex studies, identify technical risks, and develop practical mitigation solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Strong experience in power system planning, interconnection, and dynamic studies.
Experience with PSS®E, PSCAD, PowerWorld, PSLF, ETAP, and/or similar power system analysis platforms.
Strong knowledge of IBRs, BESS, GFM/GFL technologies, and power system stability.
Understanding of interconnection requirements and study processes across ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, IESO, AESO, CAISO, and other North American markets.
Ability to independently manage complex technical studies and communicate results and recommendations effectively.
About the Company
About EdgeTunePower
EdgeTunePower Inc. (ETP) provides advanced power system engineering and validation solutions for the rapidly evolving energy landscape. We work across AI data centers, BESS, renewable energy, inverter-based resources (IBRs), conventional generation, microgrids, and other complex power systems.
Our team brings together expertise in power system studies, protection and control, PSCAD and RTDS simulation, digital twins, and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing. By combining detailed engineering with real-time simulation and validation, we help identify system integration, stability, control, and protection challenges before they become costly field issues.
ETP works with utilities, developers, technology providers, and large energy users to support projects from early-stage studies and engineering through testing, validation, and commissioning. Our focus is practical: helping customers build power systems that are reliable, resilient, and ready for the demands of modern energy infrastructure.
